Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated film Dhurandhar has received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing the way for its release on December 5, 2025. The board classified the film as a “work of fiction” and stated it bears no direct or indirect resemblance to the life of Ashoka Chakra and Sena Medal awardee Major Mohit Sharma. This decision came after concerns raised by the officer’s parents, who had petitioned the Delhi High Court for a stay on the release, alleging the film portrayed real-life individuals without consent.

Following a detailed review mandated by the Delhi High Court, the CBFC has rejected the objections and granted Dhurandhar an adult ‘A’ certificate. Prior to certification, the CBFC mandated certain changes including muting a cuss word, reducing some violent scenes, changing the name of a minister character, and adding an anti-drug disclaimer in relevant sequences. The certification process concluded that the film requires no further scrutiny from Indian Army authorities.

Directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, along with Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in pivotal roles. The film promises a scale and intensity reminiscent of Hollywood action dramas, positioning it as one of the most violent productions in Indian cinema to date.

With all legal and bureaucratic hurdles cleared, Dhurandhar is now set to hit theaters as scheduled, marking Ranveer Singh’s first adult-rated film in 15 years. The release is eagerly awaited by fans who expect a gripping spy-action narrative backed by strong performances and high production values.
