On June 9, 2025, Monday, NYC Mayor Eric Adams in partnership with Federation of Indian Physicians Association’s President, Dr. Raj Bhayani hosted an event to honor the Healthcare Achievers of New York at the Gracie Mansion, Mayors official home in New York City.

Along with Mayor Eric Adams and Dr. Raj Bhayani, key participants and Guests of the event included many dignitaries:
Ronald Wayne, third co-founder of Apple;
Mr. Chintu Patel founder and CEO of Amneal Pharmaceuticals;
Mr. Al Mason Fintech entrepreneur;
Dr. Shamim Sharma, eminent Cardiologist;
Dr. Deepak Nandi, Neuropsychiatrist and entrepreneur;
Dr. Atul Kukar, renowned Cardiologist;
Gary Schlesinger, Healthcare Community Leader;
Ronald Blount Jr, Bronx county medical society, executive director;
Gary Sikka, President, American Punjab Society;
Kanan Patel founder and CEO of Kayura pharma health and beauty products;
Bhavik Patel, Healthcare executive;
Ahmad Masoud iRCM founder; Jubar Chowdhury young healthcare entrepreneur and Dr Eyad Hijazin, a well-known physician.

This prestigious event was organized to honor the healthcare workers of New York in different fields of healthcare, such as physicians, pharmacists, pharmaceutical industries. It included the Practice managers and entrepreneurs in healthcare along with people who are doing charitable health activities in the New York area.
The event to honor the healthcare workers of New York was attended by more than 150 attendees from different ethnic groups, and who’s who in healthcare with multiethnic backgrounds. There were Indian Americans, Bangladeshis, Afghans, Jewish, Spanish, as well as Americans and Caribbeans.

Thirteen honorees were given the honor as healthcare achievers of New York City by Mayor Adams, highlighting their grand achievements.
In his welcome speech, President Dr. Raj Bhayani emphasized the Hippocrates quote, “Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity,” and today’s event is to show our love and appreciation for healthcare workers of New York.

The event started with honoring Ronald Wayne, who was the third co-founder of Apple with Steve Jobs. While accepting the award, Mr. Wayne said, “This is the highest honor I have received from the Federation of Indian Physicians Association in his 71 years of career.”
Mr. Al Mason introduced Mr. Eric Adams as the best Mayor New York City ever had and highlighted the need for continuing support to him by all the New Yorkers.
Mr. Eric Adams, the Mayor of the City of New York, highlighted the prime reason for organizing this event, was to honor the sacrifice of healthcare workers during covid time which saved lives of millions in New York City.

Mr. Chintu Patel, the keynote speaker and Founder & CEO of Amneal Pharmaceuticals, emphasized his philosophy of running the company whereby his company’s prime goal remains innovation, affordability, and sustainability. Ms Kanan Patel, the youngest entrepreneur mentioned her desire to combine Ayurveda and allopathy to create beauty and skincare products. Ronald Blount Jr, Bronx county medical society, executive director highlighted the need for more work at policymakers’ level and Albany communities in New York. Gary Schlesinger the Brooklyn community and healthcare leader highlighted his passion to serve indigenous communities in New York.
Mr. Gary Sikka expressed his desire to do more charitable work in healthcare and various health camps.
The event was attended by famous media personalities, such as Sunil Hali, the publisher of Radio Zindagi Network, and The Indian Eye newspaper, along with many more media partners. In closing remarks, Dr. Shashi Shah thanked all the organizers, attendees and the helpful staff at the Gracie Mansion along with the Caterer Mint by Gary Sikka for great food.
