Start-up is a ‘buzzword’ word now. However, those who initiate a start-up realize how daunting it could be. One such woman entrepreneur is Alka Gor from Ahmedabad. She was in search of funds for her start-up. She reached out to a few angel investors and venture capital firms for funding. But every time she came out disappointed. At that time, she thought that a lot of people like her would be trotting the steps of investors’ offices with new business ideas. If an appropriate platform is provided for such young entrepreneurs, they will get mentorship and funding. This thought led to the foundation of the start-up show ‘Kal Ke Krorepati’.
On the other hand, venture builder Milapsingh Jadeja of Ahmedabad was also thinking of staging a similar show. With the help of a common friend, Alka Gor and Milapsingh met each other. Both decided to produce the show together with Film star Sunil Shetty extending his support to it. The pre-launch event of the show was held in Ahmedabad, which was attended by Sunil Shetty.
Kal Ke Krorepati is a unique reality show that is made in Hindi language and will be telecasted soon on National Television. The first season of this show features the start-ups of Gujarat. Upcoming seasons will also be held in states including Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
Kal Ke Krorepati has a completely different and entertaining layout from other similar shows. For the first season, more than 500 business proposals and ideas were invited from across Gujarat. Out of them, 27 startups with original ideas were given a chance to shine in the show. All of them were provided with the opportunity to pitch their business in 3-minutes to a panel of investors.
Commenting on the show, Venture Builder Milapsingh Jadeja said, “Kal Ke Krorepati carries a significant amount of potential to promote Gujarat’s start-up ecosystem and India’s comprehensive entrepreneurial landscape. We hope that this initiative will bring start-ups, investors and stakeholders together for networking and brainstorming and play an important role as a unique platform promoting fundraising opportunities.”
The show is produced by Alka Gor. She spoke about the high standard of the show as well as its success. She said, “Such a unique and premier show in Gujarat is a matter of pride for seven crores Gujarati and the entire country. This show will make it easier for promising businesses to get the necessary funds and move ahead. I am sure that this show will get established as an excellent platform of the country in its segment.”
