India’s cricket heroes have struck gold again. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a huge cash prize of Rs 131 crore for the team that won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. This reward goes to the 15 players, coaches, and support staff who made history by beating New Zealand in the final.

The final match took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India posted a massive 255/5, powered by Sanju Samson’s explosive 89 off 46 balls, along with quick fifties from Ishan Kishan and others. New Zealand crumbled, losing by 96 runs – India’s biggest win margin in T20 World Cup history. Jasprit Bumrah earned Player of the Match, while Samson was named Player of the Tournament.

This victory marks India’s third T20 World Cup title, after 2007 and 2024. They became the first team to defend the trophy and win it on home soil. The BCCI prize is up from Rs 125 crore given in 2024, showing their joy at this record-breaking feat. Besides this, the team got $3 million from the ICC.

Fans across the country are celebrating. “This team has given us dreams,” said one supporter in Delhi. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia praised the squad’s hard work. As players like Samson and Bumrah lead the way, India’s T20 dominance grows stronger.
