The series between India and England will be named as the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The two ace cricketers from both nations Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson will now share the honor of having the series known by their names.

James Anderson while addressing the news talked about how honored he felt sharing the feat with the Master Blaster. He talked about Sachin as someone he looked up to when he was growing up and loved playing against him.

“It’s a huge honour. I still can’t quite believe it. Sachin is someone I looked up to when I was growing up, though I don’t want to do him a disservice with his age. I remember watching him, an absolute legend of the game, and I played against him a lot as well. So to have this trophy is a huge honour for me, and I couldn’t be more proud,” Anderson said.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have agreed to name the series after their nation’s legends. Both Anderson and Tendulkar will unveil the trophy at Lord’s Cricket Ground during the World Test Championship (WTC) final, which begins on June 11.

India will be kickstarting their new WTC cycle for the next two years on 20th June against England.
