Spiritual Development Center celebrates ‘Annakut’ with Devotion in New York City

Founded in 1975 under the inspiration and blessings of revered saint Shri Devendravijay Maharaj, the Spiritual Development Center, Inc. (Adhyatmik Vikas Kendra – New York) has been a cornerstone for cultural preservation and community service for over five decades.

Established with the mission of upholding spiritual and cultural values, the center has hosted weekly devotional programs every Friday since its inception. These gatherings include bhajans and celebrations of major Hindu festivals such as Navratri, Shivratri, Janmashtami, Durga Havan, Gayatri Yajna, Tulsi Vivah, Annakut, and Hanuman Jayanti, all offered free of cost to the community.

Beyond its spiritual activities, the center has made a remarkable humanitarian impact, donating more than $1 million to charitable causes. Beneficiaries include organizations supporting cancer treatment, cataract surgeries, eye camps, education, dialysis centers, disaster relief, hospitals, maternity homes, as well as programs for polio eradication, leprosy treatment, and mental health care.

These philanthropic efforts are sustained by the generous contributions of devotees, collected during weekly bhajans and special religious and social events. The Spiritual Development Center continues to stand as a testament to faith, service, and community solidarity in the heart of New York.

On Saturday, October 25, the Spiritual Development Center organized its annual Annakut and cultural program, where over 56 dishes were offered to the Lord. Children and senior citizens alike entertained the audience of 350-400 people with their scintillating performances. The audience applauded the performances and appreciated the spirited performers and organizing team.

After the program, everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal, savoring various delicacies.
