June 23rd is always celebrated as the ‘Olympic Day’ to commemorate the founding of the modern Olympic Games in 1894. Jay Shah, the Chairman of International Cricket Council, celebrated the return of cricket to the prestigious Olympics. He has asked everyone to embrace the ‘Let’s Move?’ campaign and move towards a stronger, healthier India.

Jay Shah took to his official X handle and talked about how cricket is finally a part of the Olympic movement. He told everyone to get up and invite their 1 to take some steps to keeping a healthy body whether it is through a simple walk, a run or maybe a game of cricket.

“Cricket has always united us, and now, it’s part of the Olympic movement! On this Olympic Day, let’s celebrate the power of sport to inspire, connect, and uplift. Invite your 1 for a walk, a run, or a game of cricket, and take a step towards a stronger, healthier India. Together, let’s keep moving forward on our journey to bring the Olympic Games home!” Shah posted on X.

This year the ‘Let’s Move?’ campaign is about encouraging a ‘1’ to just walk, run, dance, skip and move with you. In this campaign people can ask their friends to join them and workout. They can use digital tools of the specially created “Let’s Move?”, and share their moves socially at the official account of Olympics with the hashtag Lets Move (#LetsMove).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India also took to their social media account to post on the auspicious day. The BCCI posted, “Cricket has joined the Olympic movement- a historic leap for our beloved sport! This Olympic Day, let’s celebrate the power of sports to connect and inspire. Through the #LetsMove campaign, we invite you to pick your 1 and move – whether it’s a walk, a run, or a game of cricket. Together, we can build a healthier, more united India, because when we move together, we move better. Let’s make our dream a reality – Olympics in India!”
