2024 Ellis Island Medal of Honor for Philanthropy goes to Ritu Prakash Chhabria

The Ellis Island Honors Society recently presented the annual Ellis Island Medals of Honor to 88 honorees including Ritu Prakash Chhabria. A total of 88 honorees have been honored for their contributions to finance, entertainment, technology, philanthropy and media in 2024.

Ritu Chhabria, Founder and Managing Trustee of Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF) has been awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor by the Ellis Island Honors Society for her exceptional contributions to philanthropy under the International category.

The medal ceremony had taken place on Saturday, May 18th during a black-tie gala held in Ellis Island’s Great Hall, which served as the gateway for 12 million immigrants to the U.S.

Ritu Chhabria said, “Our mission through the Foundation is to listen to needs at every level. Listening helps us to plan and execute efficiently. The team at MMF works tirelessly with strong ethics to ensure dignity and opportunities. Collaboration and communication with like-minded individuals are the success of our vision. I would like to thank Mr. Nasser Kazeminy and the Board of Ellis for this honor and a beautiful event.”

The Ellis Island Medals of Honor ranks among the nation’s most renowned awards. The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have officially recognized the Ellis Island Medals of Honor, and each year the recipients are listed in the Congressional Record.
