On March 2nd, Sneh Arts curated a profoundly moving memorial concert at Carnegie Hall, commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the revered Ustad Vilayat Khan. The event, meticulously curated and presented by Sunny Thakkar of Sneh Arts, unfolded as an evening of emotional resonance and unparalleled musical excellence.

The concert commenced with a poignant tribute, seamlessly blending music, audio-visual elements, and poetic narration, skilfully presented by the Mausiqui Ensemble. Featuring the talents of Hidayat Khan, Jay Gandhi, Abhik Mukherjee, Ehren Hanson, and Enayet Hossain, accompanied by the evocative poetic narration of Sunayana Kachroo, the ensemble’s performance paid heartfelt homage to the maestro.

This was followed by a spellbinding sitar recital by the internationally acclaimed Nishat Khan, accompanied by the rhythmic tabla beats of Nitin Mitta. Their collaboration mesmerized the audience, serving as a fitting conclusion to a night dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of Ustad Vilayat Khan.
