Police claim that climate activist Disha Ravi edited the toolkit document and shared it with Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg.

Delhi Police’s cybercrime unit arrested a 22-year-old climate activist Disha Ravi from Bengaluru for allegedly having connections to the “toolkit” related to farmers protests. Ravi was booked for sedition, promoting enmity and criminal conspiracy, among other offenses. Police arrested her on Saturday night and on Sunday was produced at a city court, after which she was remanded in police custody for five days.

Ravi is a student at Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru, and one of the founders of the “Friday for Future” campaign.

During the hearing, Ravi broke down and told the court that she was not part of any conspiracy. She said: “I was just supporting farmers because they are our future, they are the ones who are providing us with our food and we all need to eat.” She also stated that she made only two edits to the document.

Delhi Police through a tweet stated that Ravi shared the toolkit document with Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and then later asked Thunberg to delete it after its incriminating details accidentally became public knowledge. The police also claimed that Ravi “is an editor of the Toolkit Google Doc and key conspirator in document’s formulation and dissemination.”

As we have reported earlier, the Delhi Police filed a case against the creator of the “toolkit”, which was shared on Twitter by Thunberg. The police claim that an organization calling itself the Poetic Justice Foundation, a Khalistani group is the creator of the toolkit.

Delhi Police said: “Toolkit document found on a social media platform, predates and indicates a copycat execution of a conspiracy behind the January 26 violence in the capital during a tractors rally organized by protesting farmers.”
