PCB looking to complain ICC about Suryakumar Yadav’s tribute to Pahalgam victims

Even after the clash between India and Pakistan on September 14th had opened up a string of controversies on and off the field. The “Handshake saga” has left the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) upset to the core and as per the reports they are considering launching a formal complaint against India’s T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav.

It is being reported that PCB is upset over the comments made by Surya in the post-match presentations. Surya dedicated that victory to the armed forces of India who took part in Operation Sindoor and stated that he stands in solidarity with the victims of Pahalgam terror attack. The PCB has stated that they believe the Indian captain made a political statement on a sporting platform and has violated the spirit of the game.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has stated that the PCB has until Sunday i.e., September 21st to file an official complaint on the matter if they choose to proceed with it. 

Adding to the tensions it was reported that the Pakistani players were not happy with how the Indian team acted before and after the match, refusing to share pleasantries which is considered a gesture of goodwill and sportsmanship.

Even the former Pakistan captain and the former Chairman of PCB Rameez Raja wasn’t very happy with the comments of the Indian captain. He voiced his concerns and stated, “My biggest objection was what was said in the post-match presentation by Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. That editorial was the critical point.”

India and Pakistan will now be seen in a highly anticipated clash scheduled for this Sunday on September 21st. With the tensions behind high in both and the rivalry heating up, all eyes will be on the match and how the two sides perform in this highly controversial affair.
