Pranavam School of Dance, a performing arts institution dedicated to preserving the rich tradition of Bharatanatyam while inspiring future generations through Indian classical and contemporary dance, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a landmark theatrical production.
Titled “Gaanapathyam,” the original dance drama will be presented on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC). The performance marks a decade of artistic excellence, cultural education, and community engagement.
Unlike a traditional dance recital, Gaanapathyam brings together nearly 80 students—from young children to adults—in a collaborative production that tells the timeless story of Lord Ganesha. Through original choreography, classical Bharatanatyam, music, narration, and theatrical storytelling, the performers will present an immersive cultural experience that reflects months of creative dedication and teamwork.
The production celebrates not only the artistry of Indian classical dance but also the values it instills, including discipline, creativity, perseverance, and respect for cultural heritage. Students have worked closely with instructors to bring the vision to life, showcasing the school’s commitment to excellence in dance education.
Over the past decade, Pranavam School of Dance has grown into much more than a dance academy. It has become a nurturing space where students build confidence, develop leadership skills, strengthen their connection to Indian culture, and form lasting friendships. For many families in the community, the school has become a second home, fostering a sense of belonging through the performing arts.
As Pranavam celebrates this important milestone, Gaanapathyam stands as both a tribute to its first 10 years and a reflection of its ongoing mission to preserve tradition while inspiring the next generation of dancers and cultural ambassadors.
