At least 15 people, mostly students and young trainees, were killed after a massive fire broke out at a coaching and training centre in Lucknow’s Aliganj area, triggering panic as several students attempted to escape from the building. The blaze also left several others injured, prompting a large-scale rescue operation by fire and emergency teams.
The fire erupted at a commercial building housing an educational institute and other establishments. According to officials, thick smoke quickly spread through the premises, trapping people inside. Several students were seen trying to escape from the first floor amid the chaos, while rescue teams rushed to evacuate those trapped.
Emergency responders reached the site soon after receiving information about the blaze and carried out rescue operations. Firefighters worked to control the flames and bring out those trapped inside the building. Several injured people were shifted to hospitals for medical treatment.
The incident has raised serious concerns over fire safety measures in educational and commercial buildings. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and examine possible lapses in safety arrangements. Initial reports indicated that a possible electrical fault may have triggered the blaze, though the exact cause is still under investigation.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives and directed officials to ensure proper relief and rescue measures. A probe has been ordered into the tragedy, with authorities promising action against those found responsible.
The tragedy has once again highlighted the importance of strict enforcement of fire safety rules, especially in buildings where large numbers of students and young people gather daily. Families of the victims are mourning the loss as authorities continue investigations into the incident.
