Home Minister Amit Shah announced in Parliament that India is now free from Naxal menace. Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Monday, he said the shadow of red terror has lifted from Bastar, paving the way for development in the region.

Shah praised the security forces for their brave efforts. “For decades, Maoists spread fear in tribal areas like Chhattisgarh’s Bastar. They blocked roads, schools, and hospitals. But today, we can say India is Naxal-free,” he declared. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong leadership for this success.

The minister shared key facts. Over the past 10 years, over 10,000 Maoists have surrendered. Security operations have wiped out top leaders. Bastar, once a war zone, now sees new roads, bridges, and mobile towers. “Tribal families can now send children to school without fear,” Shah added.

He hit out at the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi. Shah accused them of supporting Naxals during their rule. “Congress called Maoists their ‘brothers’. They weakened our forces. Under BJP, we finished the job,” he said sharply.

This comes amid ongoing debates on internal security. As per Government, Naxal violence has dropped 77% since 2010. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai echoed this, promising jobs and welfare for locals.

People in Bastar welcome the change. Local leaders say tourism and farming will boom now. Experts call it a major milestone.
