Finland President Alexander Stubb surprised many by revealing he watched the hit Indian film ‘Dhurandhar’ right before his recent visit to India. His son suggested the movie, and Stubb loved its strong stand against terrorism.
Stubb shared this fun fact in an interview after wrapping up his four-day state visit from March 4 to 7. He was the chief guest at the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi and met top Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “My son told me to watch ‘Dhurandhar’, and I did. I liked fighting terror in the story. Now I wait for the sequel on March 19,” Stubb said with a smile.
The 2025 action thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, stars Ranveer Singh as a spy named Hamza who uncovers terror plots against India. It also features Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshaye Khanna. The film broke box office records last year as the top-grossing Hindi movie.
Excitement builds for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, hitting theaters on March 19 with paid previews on March 18. Advance bookings are on fire, collecting over Rs 12 crore in India, plus Rs 5 crore from US premieres alone. Delhi-NCR leads sales, with over 1 lakh tickets sold fast.
Stubb’s shout-out bridges cultures, showing Bollywood’s global pull. As fans count days to Ranveer Singh’s fiercer revenge role, this presidential nod adds star power to the hype.
