Kriti Sanon made history as the first Indian celebrity to address the World Health Summit (WHS) in Berlin, calling for urgent and bold investments in women’s health. Her keynote speech at the high-level session highlighted the critical importance of prioritizing women’s health as a foundation for global prosperity and gender equality. Sanon emphasized that investing in women’s health is not merely a moral obligation but also a strategic economic decision, citing data that suggests every dollar invested yields a nine-dollar return.

As UNFPA India’s Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality, Kriti drew from her personal experiences and her advocacy work to underscore the devastating impact of inadequate healthcare access, child marriage, and social inequality faced by women in her home country. She urged world leaders and policymakers to move beyond empirical evidence and commit to decisive action, advocating for inclusive decision-making that involves women at the highest levels.

The summit discussion, co-hosted by UNFPA, brought together global health leaders, government officials, and representatives from civil society to explore innovative financing and strategic partnerships for advancing women’s health initiatives. Kriti’s participation exemplifies how Indian celebrities are increasingly leveraging their influence to champion social causes on international platforms. Her advocacy aims to inspire meaningful progress toward a future where every woman can lead a healthy, empowered life.
