Google and Meta unveil Major AI Partnerships with Reliance Industries

Reliance Industries’ AGM on August 29, 2025, witnessed notable virtual addresses by tech giants Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, and Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, spotlighting their pivotal AI partnerships with Reliance. Pichai highlighted Google’s long-standing commitment to India’s digital growth through its alliance with Reliance and Jio, driving affordable internet access to millions. He emphasized a new AI-driven phase, with Google and Reliance collaborating to transform diverse sectors such as Energy, Retail, Telecom, and Financial Services. Central to this is the Jamnagar Cloud region, a Google Cloud facility dedicated to Reliance, powered by clean energy and Jio’s advanced network for enhanced AI capabilities.

Pichai stated, “The AI opportunity in India is extraordinary. It will transform every industry and organisation – from the largest enterprises to the smallest kirana store.” He underlined Google’s role as Reliance’s largest public cloud partner, supporting critical workloads and innovation in advanced AI projects. This partnership aims to democratize AI access, empowering businesses at all levels to achieve extraordinary outcomes.

Mark Zuckerberg shared Meta’s vision of advancing AI to achieve superintelligence that can self-improve and revolutionize systems. He described their goal to deliver “personal superintelligence to everyone,” enabling personal empowerment and innovation. Highlighting Meta’s open-source Llama AI models, Zuckerberg noted their potential to amplify human productivity, creativity, and innovation across India. He expressed confidence that the Meta-Reliance partnership will embed AI capabilities across India’s businesses, from startups in remote areas to urban enterprises.

Zuckerberg concluded, “With this partnership, we are beginning to build our vision for the future where every entrepreneur, creator, and company has the tools they need to succeed.” Both leaders portrayed their collaborations with Reliance as transformative models for AI adoption throughout India’s economic landscape.
