It is great news for Manoj Bajpayee’s fans as the Bollywood star is coming with his new project ‘Inspector Zende’. The makers released the official trailer of the film this Monday morning, on August 25th. The movie written and directed by Chinmay Mandlekar is loosely inspired by a true story. The film is produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut and will be available on Netflix next month on September 5th.
Netflix released the trailer of the movie on their official social media handle and wrote in the caption, “Madhukar Zende ka sabse bada mission ab shuru. Interpol’s most wanted ko pakadna. (The biggest mission of Madhukar Zende starts now. To catch the most wanted of the Interpol.) Watch Inspector Zende, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Jim Sarbh, out 5 September, only on Netflix.”
Talking about his experience of doing the role of Inspector Zende, Bajpayee revealed that he was fascinated by the character. The actor said that he loved the fact that Zende had bravery, humor and the Mumbai flavor and caught the notorious criminal not once but twice and still never chased glory.
Bajpayee said, “What fascinated me about Inspector Zende was that he wasn’t chasing glory — he was just doing his job, yet caught one of the most notorious criminals twice. His bravery, humour, and that unmistakable Mumbai flavour make his journey truly inspiring. Meeting him felt like stepping into a storybook, with a lifetime of tales to tell. Playing him let me dive into a world that’s as gritty as it is entertaining. The trailer is only a glimpse — the film takes you right into the heart of it.”
Manoj Bajpayee stars as the lead in the movie as the witty police Inspector Zinde who is assigned with a task to catch the most wanted criminal of Interpol, ‘Carl Bhojraj’. Jim Sarbh will be playing the character of Carl Bhojraj, a funny spinoff of real serial killer Charles Sobhraj. The film also stars veteran actors like Sachin Khedekar and Bhalchandra Kadam, Harish Dudhade, Onkar Raut, Bharat Savale, Nitin Bhajan as Zende’s trusted team, Girija Oak and Vaibhav Mangale in pivotal roles.
