One of the biggest movie stars of the 1990s, Govinda is back in the heap of controversies with several rumours of his divorce running wild. Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja recently in a YouTube vlog addressed the ongoing divorce rumours, however Govinda’s lawyers have denied any such reports and stated that there is no case and people are circulating false news.
As these rumours about the couple’s divorce have intensified in recent times, people approached Govinda’s lawyer Lalit Bindra. Bindra had denied all these rumors and emphasized that there is no case and this is all old news that people are circulating now.
Govinda’s lawyer said, “Koi case nahi sab settle ho raha hai ye sab log purani cheezen utha ke daal rahe hain. (There is no case, everything is being settled, people are just bringing up old matters.)”
It was reported that everyone can see for themselves this Ganesh Chaturthi how the couple will be celebrating it together.
“Abhi Ganesh Chaturthi aayega, aapko sab saath mein nazar aayenge, aap ghar aaiyega. (This Ganesh Chaturthi, you will see everyone together, you should come home.)” reported sources.
As per the documents that have come out, Sunita Ahuja had filed for a divorce in the Bandra Family Court last year on December 5th. It was reported that she had moved the case under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act in 1995 on the grounds of adultery, cruelty and desertion. The court had summoned the Bollywood star but he did not appear in person until the court issued a show cause notice in May 2025.
The whole rumors of the couple growing apart and deciding to end their marriage after 38 years of being together had shocked the Internet. Although both sides didn’t give much life to the rumour mill, in February of this year, Govinda’s legal team confirmed that Sunita had filed for divorce six months earlier.
