Amidst the ongoing struggles with the imposition of heavy import duties by the United States President Donald Trump, the tensions are soaring high between the US and India. In the middle of all this, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he would give some “advice” to PM Modi so that he can deal with Trump but stated that he would do it privately as he considers both PM Modi and President Trump as his “terrific” friends.
The Prime Minister of Israel expressed his desire to visit India soon considering the ongoing tensions. He told the media, “PM Modi and Trump are terrific friends of mine. I would give PM Modi some advice on dealing with Trump, but privately.”
PM Netanyahu has also called the basis of the US-India relationship “very solid” and has urged them to resolve the tariff issue. He stated that the interest of both the nations is to reach a common ground so that both of them can grow and the same would be in the interest of Israel as the nation is friends with both countries.
“The basis of the relationship is very solid. It will be in the interest of India and the US to arrive at a common ground and resolve the tariff issue. Such a resolution will be good for Israel as well, as both countries are our friends,” he said.
India on the other hand has strongly condemned the “unfair, unjustified and unreasonable” move made by the United States. This imposition of 50% imports duties by US are very likely to hit many sectors such as textiles and marine exports. PM Modi has issued a strong message stressing that India would never compromise with the interests of its farmers and fishermen.
