Former US Ambassador to the United Nations and former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is widely expected to run for 2024 presidential elections.
Former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley who served in the Trump administration for almost two years broke with former US President Trump when she said, “he let us down.” Haley also stated that she doesn’t believe Trump will run for the elections in president in 2024.
While talking to Politico, Haley said: “We need to acknowledge he let us down.” “He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again,” she said. Haley was the first Indian American to hold a cabinet rank position, as US Ambassador to the UN in the Trump administration.
When questioned about the 2024 presidential elections, Haley said: “I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture.” She indicated that the attack at the US Capitol on January 6 has damaged Trump’s political career. She added: “I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far.” “She also said that Trump is going to find himself further and further isolated. Haley is widely expected to run for the White House in 2024.
She also criticized the Republican party for supporting Trump’s campaign to reverse the election.
Haley also pointed out that she doesn’t know the person Trump has become. She said: “Never did I think he would spiral out like this. I don’t feel like I know who he is anymore. The person that I worked with is not the person that I have watched since the election,” She added that there was nothing to fear about Trump when she worked with him.
In 2016, when Trump ran for President, Haley was a critic but she became a supporter while serving his administration.
