The movie ‘Animal’ which was released in the year 2023 has been a very polarising movie for people all around the country. Rashmika Mandanna, the lead actress in the movie, has now been roped back in the controversy and is facing serious public backlash over her comments stating she could date someone like Ranvijay (Ranbir Kapoor’s character) in real life.
Rashmika was recently in an interview with Barkha Dutt where she was asked if she would actually be with someone like Ranvijay in her real life. Mandanna said that she wouldn’t mind dating someone like him as she believes that people can change if you love them truly. She stated that people grow with time and when two people grow together they change a lot.
The actress said, “I said that because, for example, when you grow up with a partner or someone from a younger age, you are still forming a personality. When you remember your best friend or your partner being a certain way maybe a decade earlier, suddenly, to the person who they are today, you’re just like, ‘Do you remember how it was? And do you realise how much we have changed together?”
Her comments didn’t sit well with people as they thought the actress’ comments were insensitive. Netizens scrutinised the actress over her comments and hurled insults at her. One Internet user wrote, “It’s sad that a lot of girls are told this and moulded in a way to change themselves for the guy. She’s a reflection of the society and how India thinks.”
While someone else mentioned, “What world is she living in? Only to defend her mere character, you can’t sit there and make such statements. Women are not RESPONSIBLE for fixing anyone.” Another user commented, “She messed up here!! The correct answer is – No, I won’t date Ranbir’s character in Animal in real life.”
