After a four-month hiatus marked by controversy, comedian Samay Raina’s widely popular YouTube talent show, India’s Got Latent, has made a discreet comeback—this time on a new channel, triggering excitement and renewed hopes among its fanbase for new episodes.
The show, which originally aired on Raina’s main YouTube channel, was abruptly pulled down in February 2025 following a firestorm of backlash. The controversy erupted when fellow YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate remark to a contestant involving their parents, sparking widespread outrage and legal action. Multiple FIRs were filed against Allahbadia, Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani, leading to the removal of all episodes from the original channel.
In a public statement at the time, Raina expressed emotional distress, saying, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time”.
Now, in a surprising turn, segments from the show have resurfaced online, not on Raina’s main channel but on a newly activated page called India’s Got Latent Clips. The revived channel features a mix of public and previously members-only content, with over 500 videos currently accessible and nearly half a million subscribers. Fans, who had been vocal in their disappointment over the show’s disappearance, have flooded the comment sections with messages of support and anticipation. “Bring the show back,” one fan wrote, while another exclaimed, “One of the best series of the decade, hands down!”.
The revival, though low-key, indicates the enduring popularity of the show and its dedicated community. While the original channel remains inactive, the new clips channel is steadily uploading content, fueling speculation about a potential full-scale return of India’s Got Latent. Meanwhile, Samay Raina is currently on an international stand-up tour across Europe, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, which began on June 5 and is set to conclude in Sydney on July 20.
