Janhvi Kapoor and Ishan Khattar are all set to make their debuts at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The pair will be present for the screening of their film, Homebound at the Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival. To show support and cheer Janhvi on her big debut, her sister Khushi Kapoor, rumoured boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya and best friend Orry have reached the French riviera. They all were seen in a picture together alongside Homebound’s producer Karan Johar.
Karan Johar posted the pictures from the Day 1 of the red carpet, catching all the eyeballs with his peach three-piece suit and cool black shades. Karan who has always been the one with styles reflected a bold aura and mystique with his look. He wrote in the caption, “Yes we Cannes, Day 1!”
Ishan Khattar on the other hand also posted some photos of him exploring the French Riviera. He was seen in an all-white outfit in some photos wearing black shades along with it while in other photos he was wearing a grey t-shirt along with black pants. Khattar captioned his post, “Bonjour festival de Cannes.”
While they were showcasing their glamour on the red carpet, Johar also provided an update through his social media. He announced that the world-renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese has come on board the film as an Executive Director.
Johar wrote, “Homebound is an extraordinary confluence of talent, vision, and storytelling at its finest. Having Martin Scorsese, a true legend of cinema, lend his wisdom and support to Neeraj’s remarkable vision elevates our film to a rare artistic height. With an incredibly gifted cast and the prestigious stage of Cannes, we eagerly look forward to sharing Homebound’s powerful story with audiences around the world!”
Karan also shared a note by Scorsese in which the director was praising Neeraj’s work in Masan and said, “I have seen Neeraj’s first film Masaan in 2015 and I loved it, so when Melita Toscan du Plantier sent me the project of his second film, I was curious. I loved the story, the culture, and was willing to help. Neeraj has made a beautifully crafted film that’s a significant contribution to Indian Cinema. I am glad the movie is an official selection at Un Certain Regard in Cannes this year.”
