The conflict between India and Pakistan that was raging higher with every passing day seems to be coming to a halt recently. Both nuclear-powered nations have come to an agreement to a ceasefire and to stop all the attacks and military operations against each other. The news was announced to the world by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump and was later confirmed by both country’s government officials.

It came as a big relief as attacks on both sides came to a halt after the DGMO of Pakistan contacted the Indian government to propose a ceasefire. The news was also confirmed by the Indian government’s Ministry of External Affairs. After the announcement, several celebrities from Bollywood reacted to the news conveying their support to the nation and expressing their gratitude.

Actress Raveena Tandon took to her social media and stated that the decision is welcomed but that people should keep in mind that if there is bloodshed in the future, it will be considered as an “Act of War.” She captioned the post saying that she will support the country in any way she can as a citizen and wrote “My country’s enemy is mine.”

She also addressed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and wrote, “The IMF had better keep track of where their money goes, the big powers may have sanctioned these loans to get their earlier loans paid back or so that there is more ammunition bought or whatever. But now AND never should Bharat (India) Bleed Again.”

Other Bollywood celebs also reacted to the news sharing it on their social media handles. Celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Tripti Dimri, Hina Khan, Huma Qureshi, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Ishan Khattar and Ananya Pandey posted the news on their Instagram stories. Actress Kareena Kapoor put the Indian Flag on her story and wrote, “Rab Rakha (God Bless)… Jai Hind.” While Parineeti Chopra thanked Lord Shiva and posted a story that read, “Om Namah Shivaay.”

Although both nations agreed to a ceasefire, Pakistan violated the agreement within two hours of its effectiveness as there was an array of shots fired at the Line of Control and several drones sent to the Indian territory. The drones that were hovering over regions of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir were intercepted by the Indian defence systems. Later, it was revealed that both nations’ officials have talked it through, and the ceasefire agreement will be restored with immediate effect.
