Bollywood has been buzzing recently with another of its stars announcing a move to Hollywood. Kangana Ranaut, the ever so talked about Bollywood actress will be transitioning to Hollywood for her official debut in the English film industry. It is being reported that the actress will be a part of a horror film which will start its shooting in New York in the latter half of the year.
The news has come as a shock to many fans of the actress as she had always maintained the stance to stay in Bollywood and work in the country’s movie industry rather than moving abroad. When the fans learned about the news the social media space was divided into polarising opinions. One request that came out on top was to see Ranaut working alongside Priyanka Chopra who has transitioned beautifully from Bollywood to Hollywood and has made a big name for herself.
Previously in 2017, when Kangana was asked about her views on working in films in the West she had a pretty straightforward reply stating that it would be a ‘stupid’ move. She also mentioned that Hollywood’s business is cracking and the Asian film industry is improving with leaps and bounds. In 2021 when Kapil Sharma asked her about working in the English film industry she denied the claims as well saying Bollywood has better talent which is why there is no need for her to go outside for work.
Kangana will be seen starring in a horror drama, Blessed Be The Evil. The project will be produced by Lion Movies and will see Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone starring alongside Manikarnika-famed actress. The project will be directed by Anurag Rudra who has also co-written the screenplay alongside Gatha Tiwary. The film will be presented at the Cannes film festival to attract international viewers.
The film will revolve around the story of a Christian couple who moved to an abandoned farm after a heart-breaking miscarriage. Unbeknownst to them that the farm has a dark past and will test the couple’s love and faith as an evil presence is lurking in the shadows.
