Indian nationals living in Israel are facing escalating fears for their safety amid heightened tensions following missile attacks from Iran. Many describe the situation as increasingly alarming, with one student recounting a bomb landing just 100 meters from a friend’s home, emphasizing that current threats surpass those experienced during last year’s conflict with Hamas.
The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has issued advisories urging citizens to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay close to bomb shelters as the region braces for potential conflict. Approximately 18,000 Indians reside in Israel, primarily working as caregivers, IT professionals, and in the diamond trade. The embassy is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining communication with local authorities to ensure their safety.
Concerns are particularly acute among caregivers who initially moved to Israel for better wages but now face an uncertain future. One caregiver from Telangana expressed worries about educational expenses for his children amidst the turmoil. The embassy’s advisory also includes emergency contact information for those needing assistance.
As tensions continue to rise, the Indian community is left grappling with both economic and physical threats, highlighting the precarious nature of life in war zones.
