MSquare Fitness in Edison was the site of a heartfelt gathering to remember and honor the beloved Priti. The event, filled with emotional recollections and sincere tributes, reminded all of Priti’s lasting impact on the community. The meeting commenced with two minutes of silence followed by devotional prayer songs, setting a solemn tone for the attendees as they recalled fond memories of Priti.
The event was highlighted by personal stories, with Nitin Vyas reflecting on his first interaction with Priti during a 2017 international yoga event at the Consulate. He described her dedication to promoting international yoga yearly. Additionally, Mahesh Wani shared his experience from 2015, expressing appreciation for Priti’s awareness of the Consulate’s workings, while several other attendees fondly shared their experiences collaborating with her.
A message from Consul General of India in New York, Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, was read by Nitin Vyas: “Priti will be remembered for her warmth, her willingness to lend a helping hand, and her remarkable ability to foster a sense of camaraderie with the people she worked with. Her dedication to work and embodiment of the values we hold dear at the Consulate will continue to inspire us for years to come. We extend our deepest condolences to Priti’s family. Their loss is shared by all of us here at the Consulate and by the many members of the Indian community who worked with Priti. May her soul rest in eternal peace. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Thank you all for arranging this gathering to celebrate the life of dear Priti.”
Notable attendees included Ravi Ivaturi from Heartfulness, Vijay Kumar of Vihamgam Yoga, Sravan Natakala and Shiv Kumar from the Gandhian Society, Seema Jatiani from the Shraddha Foundation, – NINA & NITIN VYAS of WORLD VEGAN VISION, Mahesh Wani from the Gandhian Society and Mallakhamb Federation of USA, and Bhadra Butala and Gita Rai from the Gandhian Society.
Though unable to attend, many community leaders and key figures sent their condolences and prayers, including Dr. Sudhir PARIKH, Mr. H.K. and Malti Shah, founders of World Vegan Vision, and media personalities such as Mr. Indrajit Saluja, Ilyas Qureshi, Sunil Hali, Rajeev Bhambari, and Kamlesh Mehta.
This event underscored the deep affection and high regard in which Priti is held by her colleagues, the Consulate, and the broader community. Although she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire.
