The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) conferred the Global Leadership Award for Philanthropy and Corporate Social on Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, with the 2023 Global Leadership Award for Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility. USISPF Chairman John Chambers and the Board of Directors presented the award to Reliance Foundation’s Chairperson.
Nita Ambani while receiving the award said, “I feel honoured and privileged to receive this award. This will energise the entire Reliance Foundation team.” She also announced the launch of a new school led by her daughter, Isha Ambani, who heads Reliance Retail.
Mrs Ambani commended USISPF for their work. “I also take this opportunity to convey my deep appreciation to USISPF and its leadership for being a strong bridge in deepening the natural bonds between India and the US. In just over six years, the Forum has strengthened people-to-people and business-to-business ties between India and US.”
She added that empowering women and children is very close to her heart and CSR responsibility. Speaking earlier at award acceptance, Ambani said that the role of women and women empowerment is one of the main goals of the Reliance Foundation.
USISPF Chairman Mr John Chambers said: “One of the most important awards that an organization can give is for social responsibility and philanthropy. It’s so important for people who have been successful in life to give back and create platforms for others to succeed. One such person is Nita Ambani, who epitomizes this example of altruism and through her work in Reliance Foundation has been exemplary in the fields of arts, sports, culture, and education.”
