The Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Edison Chapter organized an exclusive immigration seminar featuring three distinguished attorneys which took place at the North Edison Public Library in Edison, New Jersey on September 9th, 2023.
This successful event provided invaluable resources and information for those navigating the complex landscape of US immigration. Attorneys from various backgrounds joined to provide expert insights, guidance, and answers to pressing immigration questions.
The Event was well attended by different walks of life people facing many complex questions about the US Immigration process and the options available to them. Many had immigration issues pending for long and had some doubts about their status. Their direct questions were well answered by Attorney Sunita Dewan Esq who founded Dewan and Associates, PLLC (D&A) more than 25 years ago. Suneeta is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the American Association of University Women. Her colleagues, Attorney Hafiz Uddin, Esq. and Poonam Gupta, Esq., answered many questions from the audience.
The Chapter President Ms Pallavi Verma, called all present to be part of the GOPIO-Edison chapter and stressed the importance of volunteering for the community. She moderated the entire event. The event registration desk was well managed by Chapter member Sujit Sinha and others.
The event was kicked off by GOPIO International Associate Secretary Chitranjan Sahay Belwariar, who is also a Life and Board member of multiple GOPIO Chapters. He explained about GOPIO and its activities and requested all to bring their concerns to panelists.
Topics covered were various US visa types, Green card application processes, updates on immigration policies, diversity visa lottery program, and much more.
This seminar was open to the public, and attendees were encouraged to come with questions ahead of time during the event registration. It was an excellent opportunity for individuals, families, and businesses seeking clarity on immigration matters. Questions were raised by visa holders, aspiring green card applicants, and an employer navigating the intricacies of hiring foreign talents, thereby this event was designed to empower the community with lots of information.
GOPIO Edison Chapter is committed to serving the Pan-Indian community and society at large, fostering understanding, and providing essential resources on immigration matters and other social service and education activities. This event is a testament to that commitment.
