Finance Minister, who is on a week long visit to the US, addressed the people from Tamil community at the ‘Celebrating Togetherness’ event on the occasion of Puthandu (Tamil New Year) in Washington DC.
Ms Nirmala Sitharaman was accorded a warm welcome by the Tamil Diaspora at the ‘Celebrating Togetherness’ event in Washington DC.
Shri Taranjit Sandhu, the Ambassador of India to the United States, was also present on the occasion along with other dignitaries.
Celebrating the cultural linkages between Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra, ‘Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam’ will be held from April 17-30, 2023 at various venues throughout Gujarat.
Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam’ is an initiative under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat’ program and aims to preserve and promote the rich culture & heritage of Saurashtra and Tamil Nadu.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said India and the US are together building a foundation for a strong, peaceful and harmonious global community. Addressing a gathering of Indian Americans at the India House, Washington DC, the Minister wished that India-US relationship grows from strength to strength.
