RRR, the blockbuster and major award clincher, has bagged 4 four HCA awards at a recent ceremony in the US. Jr. NTR and Alia Bhatt will receive the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Spotlight awards for their performance in S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR, the Los Angeles-based body announced. RRR has collected over Rs 1,200 crore worldwide.
Jr NTR won the award for his performance in RRR as Komaram Bheem. HCA will soon be sending their trophies to them.
While accepting the award, Rajamouli said, “In the innumerable action shots in the whole film, there were hardly 2-3 shots where we used body doubles. The actors performed each and every stunt. It is the combined effort of the whole team. I thank my whole team for this. The film took 320 days to complete this film, most of which were taken by the stunts.”
RRR bagged 4 awards at the HCA Awards on February 25 in the categories of Best Action Film, Best International Feature, Best Original Song, and Best Stunts. Ram Charan, one of the male leads in the film, and director Rajamouli received the awards for best international film. In his thanking note, Rajamouli, the acclaimed director dedicated the award to India and Ram Charan promised to come to Hollywood with more entertainment.
The song Naatu Naatu from RRR, which is already a worldwide rage and won Golden Globe award, has been composed by M.M. Keeravani and sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, with a foot-thumping and lively choreography by Prem Rakshith. The peppy dance number has also bagged a nomination in the Best Original Song category at the 95th Academy Awards, which will be presented on March 12.
RRR is a fictionalized account of freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR).
