Punit Renjen and Raj Subramaniam named to US President’s Export Council

Two Indian Americans have made it to US President Joe Biden’s export council. Punit Renjen and Raj Subramaniam will be members of the Export Council, which serves as the principal national advisory committee on international trade.

Punit Renjen now serves as the global CEO Emeritus of Deloitte. During his tenure as the CEO of Deloitte, he developed and implemented a global strategy that catapulted Deloitte to the status of the leading professional services organization in the world. It was under Renjen’s leadership that Deloitte launched WorldClass, a global initiative to prepare 100 million underprivileged people for a world of opportunity.

Renjen has many awards, accolades, and recognitions to his credit. He was awarded ‘Global Indian of the Year’ by the Economic Times. Rengen also received the ‘Global Achievement Award’ by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum.

Raj Subramaniam is the other Indian-American on Biden’s list. He is the president and CEO of FedEx Corporation, one of the world’s largest transportation companies. Subramaniam also serves on the board of directors of FedEx Corporation, the Procter & Gamble Company, the US Chamber of Commerce’s China Centre Advisory Board, US India Strategic Partnership Forum, and the US China Business Council.

In 2023, Subramaniam received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, the highest civilian award presented by the President of India to the Indian diaspora for their outstanding achievements in India and abroad.
