India is no longer Google Pay’s top generator of new users, US has taken over.
According to app intelligence firm Apptopia, US overtakes India and becomes Google Pay’s largest generator of news users.
Google Pay, the digital payment platform owned by Google gained over 300,000 users in the United States in a single day last week but on the same day, it only added 200,000 new users in India.
Google Pay was ranked on top by the Finance app in Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store in the United States. This month it also went on to be in the overall top position on both the stores.
As per the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Google Pay stood first in India in terms of number of transactions in November 2021, with almost 90 million transactions. Currently, the app holds about 43% of the Indian market share.
