Harley-Davidson’s upcoming X350T motorcycle has been spotted testing on Indian roads without camouflage, hinting at a possible launch in the country soon. Developed in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, the new motorcycle is expected to feature a 349cc engine, allowing it to benefit from lower Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates and potentially offer buyers a more affordable entry into the premium motorcycle segment.
The test model carries prominent X350T badging on its fuel tank and features a new orange colour scheme with updated graphics. Its overall design closely resembles the Harley-Davidson X440T, retaining the muscular fuel tank, round LED headlamp, wide handlebars and single-piece stepped seat.
Smaller engine, familiar design
The biggest expected change is under the hood. The X350T is likely to replace the X440T’s 440cc single-cylinder engine with a smaller 349cc unit. The new engine is expected to produce around 25 bhp of power and 35 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. These figures are yet to be officially confirmed.
The motorcycle is also expected to retain premium features such as upside-down front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS and a TFT digital instrument console.
Lower GST could make it cheaper
The move to a smaller engine is largely aimed at making the motorcycle more competitive on price. Under India’s revised GST structure, motorcycles with engine capacities of up to 350cc attract 18% GST, while those above 350cc are taxed at 40%. The lower tax rate could help Harley-Davidson reduce the motorcycle’s final price.
However, the company has not announced the official price or launch date. The India-spec X350T is also different from the parallel-twin X350 sold in China. Once launched, it could strengthen Harley-Davidson’s position in India’s competitive mid-size motorcycle market.
