The US Foundation for Education and Development (USFED), a U.S.-based nonprofit organization focused on education and development, highlighted its commitment to educational excellence, environmental sustainability, and youth engagement at the GIST Forum USA Annual Meeting 2026, held October 17–18 in Orlando, Florida. The event brought together more than 60 participants, including distinguished speakers, academicians, policymakers, and students from the Next Generation Young Scholars program (Class XI and above), in the United States. Together, they exchanged ideas on science, technology, Bharatiya Knowledge Systems (BKS), and national development. The meet also featured invited speakers and subject matter experts who joined virtually from Bharat, representing multiple agencies, including AIIA, ICAR, NIF, NITI Aayog, and ICMR-NIN.

Dr. Yelloji-Rao Mirajkar, International Convener of GIST, said:“GIST remains committed to promoting Bhartiya Knowledge Systems and advancing scientific inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ethical innovation. By connecting experts, academicians, and young researchers, we aim to apply knowledge for societal benefit and contribute to Bharat’s scientific advancement, educational excellence, and sustainable development.”

USFED was represented by its President, Dr. Lov Kher, along with Mr. Ravi Annadanam, Vice President, and Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Treasurer. Dr. Kher delivered a talk titled “Janma Bhoomi to Karma Bhoomi: Knowledge with Purpose, Service with Impact.” He also delivered the welcome remarks and summarized the key discussions and highlights during the closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony featured distinguished participants, including Dr. Ajay Houde, Chairman of the GIST USA Board; Ambassador Dr. Sumit Seth, Consul General of India in Atlanta; Dr. Yasodhan Agalgaonkar, Secretary, GSIF; and Dr. Yelloji-Rao Mirajkar, International Convener, GIST, along with other speakers from India.

As part of USFED’s engagement with GIST Forum USA, Dr. Kher served as the lead mentor for the Climate, Energy and Environment vertical of the GIST Summer Internship Program. He is also supporting GIST’s networking efforts with nine U.S. organizations working in related areas to encourage collaboration, knowledge exchange, and future initiatives.

Dr. Lov Kher, President of USFED, said: “Knowledge becomes truly meaningful when it is translated into purposeful action and service to society. The GIST Forum USA Annual Meeting demonstrated the value of connecting expertise across generations and disciplines while engaging young people in research, innovation, and sustainable development. Through USFED, I look forward to strengthening collaborations with GIST and other organizations that connect education with real-world impact.”

A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of research projects by 15 of the 45 high school students from across the USA who participated in the GIST-SIP 2026 (Summer Internship Program). Their projects spanned three interdisciplinary areas: Climate, Energy and Environment; Nutrition; and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Other discussions covered ethical AI, healthcare innovation, scientific research, Bharatiya Knowledge Systems, and initiatives supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat.

USFED appreciates GIST Forum USA’s efforts to create a platform for meaningful dialogue, student engagement, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. USFED looks forward to building on these shared priorities through continued engagement in education, climate and energy initiatives, youth development, and collaboration with organizations across the United States.
