Bollywood fans have a family treat coming their way. Neetu Kapoor and Kapil Sharma star in the fun family drama Daadi Ki Shaadi, set to hit cinemas on May 8. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Neetu’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who is also actor Ranbir Kapoor’s sister.
The makers shared the exciting news on social media with a lively poster. They wrote, “Daadi is breaking the internet and the rules! Is the family with her or against her? Find out in Daadi Ki Shaadi, releasing on 8th May. Gen D to Gen Z all are invited.” This wholesome entertainer promises laughs, drama and heartwarming moments for all ages.
Riddhima joins Sadia Khateeb in key roles alongside the leads. Produced by Rtake Studios, BeingU Studios, and Shimla Talkies Production, the movie is written and directed by Ashish R. Mohan. Sadia Khateeb called the shoot a joy. “Being on set with Neetu ma’am, Kapil, Riddhima, and the crew was like a family vacation. There was constant laughter, good food, and crazy fun moments,” she said.
Riddhima wrapped filming last May after 52 days with over 200 people. She shared her thrill online: “Firsts are always special… We plotted, danced, laugh-cried and I cannot wait for you to join the celebrations.” This is her full Bollywood entry after a cameo in Netflix’s Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives with Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Neelam Kothari and Bhavana Pandey.
