The Indian Consulate in Shanghai held a vibrant community interaction session on Sunday as part of its “#CommunityRavivar” outreach initiative, drawing nearly 200 members of the Indian diaspora from across Eastern China.

The event was led by Consul General Pratik Mathur, who opened the doors of the Consulate for an Open House Community Interaction, aimed at strengthening communication between the mission and the growing Indian community in the region.

According to the Consulate, the interactive session featured wide-ranging discussions, including updates on passport and consular services, ongoing facilitation measures, and upcoming cultural programs designed to celebrate India’s heritage abroad. Members of the diaspora also offered insightful suggestions on ways to further enhance community welfare, engagement, and bilateral people-to-people ties.

Attendees praised the Consulate’s efforts to remain accessible and responsive, noting that such open-house formats help address concerns while fostering a sense of unity among expatriates.

The Consulate reiterated its commitment to supporting the Indian community in Eastern China and emphasized that #CommunityRavivar events will continue to serve as a bridge between the mission and the diaspora, ensuring a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and cultural connection.
