SandLogic, a semiconductor startup from Bengaluru is amongst the very few chip builders from India that are targeting commercial grade artificial intelligence (AI) applications. As per the sources, the semiconductor start-up is reportedly in talks to raise around $30-40 million in Series A funding at a valuation of around $200 million.
As per the people who know about the situation, the company has already appointed an investment banker, and has approached both the domestic and foreign venture capitalists as of now.
The start-up was founded 7 years ago in 2018 by Kamalakar Devaki, Jesudas Fernandes, Radhika Kanigiri and Ravi Kumar Rayana. It was started as a low-code or no-code platform but then decided to enter enterprise AI and began designing its own chip prototypes. SandLogic’s low-power Krsna chip aims to facilitate on-device AI and has already achieved 22 trillion of operations per second (TOPS).
In 2025, the AI chip start-ups have seen a huge rise in the interest that investors have shown in them. In the Series A funding that was led by Zoho and Unicorn India Ventures, Netrasemi raised about ₹107 crore and on the other hand Maieutic Semiconductors, SandLogic’s Bengaluru counterpart, had secured somewhere around $4.15 million from Endiya Partners and Exfinity.
SandLogic had also raised around $3.5 million previously, receiving funding from high-net-worth individuals and a few angel investors such as Google and AT&T executives.
SandLogic’s co-founder Devaki said, “ExSLerate V2 is SandLogic’s underlying chip design that can be reused and scaled. It is meant to run AI tasks faster while using less than 2W of power, and the company says it will be ready for commercial use by December 2026. Krsna chip is built on that design and is now in prototyping, with test chips planned for the third quarter of FY27.”
