The world is now heavily engaged with Artificial Intelligence all around and in the midst of that India has emerged as the leader globally in the daily use of ChatGPT. As per a survey conducted, India has the highest percentage of people that use the AI chatbot daily.
As per the survey, more than one-third of the respondents in India i.e., 36% have stated that they use ChatGPT daily. This is the highest percentage in the world and is more than double the global average, which is 17%. On the other hand, 39% of Indians have also revealed that they use the AI chatbot weekly while 10% said that they use it monthly. 15% of the responders revealed that they use the chatbot ‘rarely’.
This survey was part of the Global Public Opinion on Artificial Intelligence (GPO-AI) report which consisted of over 1000 respondents from a total of 21 different countries all across the world. The survey was conducted 2 years back in 2023.
Standing just behind India in the global survey was Pakistan with 28% users from the country interacting with ChatGPT every day and 34% doing it every week. Kenya was also just a step behind them with 27% people using the AI chatbot daily, however the weekly numbers over there were quite high reaching 42%.
China also had a similar case like Kenya and even surpassed them in weekly usage. Around 49% in China were using the chatbot weekly but only 24% used it daily. Brazil rounded out the top 5 with 21% daily users and 38% weekly users but what was surprising was that Brazil also had the largest percentage of uncommon users with 27%.
Japan, on the flip side, had the lowest daily usage rate in the survey with just 6% daily users. In comparison to other nations ChatGPT has not gained much popularity over there with just 32% of respondents weekly, 20% monthly and 42% rarely using the AI chatbot.
