Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Japan today, on August 29th, to attend the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit. As he reached Tokyo, PM Modi received a heartfelt cultural welcome from the Japanese community. The performers welcomed him with a cultural reception that showed a blend of both Indian and Japanese traditions.
The Japanese performers were wearing traditional Rajasthani attires and performed a Rajasthani folk song and recited the Gayatri Mantra along with other Sanskrit mantras to welcome PM Modi. The performance showcased the deep appreciation that Japan has for Indian culture.
The performers then shared an emotional interaction with the Indian PM which will be etched in their memory forever. One of the performers talked about the moment and called it an impressive experience and stated that she was deeply moved by the sweet gesture from PM Modi to take a picture with them. She said, “It was such an impressive experience. I never expected that Modi ji would take a picture with us, so I was deeply moved.”
There was another Japanese performer who played tabla during the performance and tried expressing his joy by blending both English and Hindi. He even stated that this was the best day of his life. He said, “I can’t express it properly, not even with my broken Hindi. There is so much to say, but for me, today has been the best day of my life, it’s unforgettable.”
The way all the performers were ecstatic and emotional showcased the strong cultural bond between India and Japan. Along with that, the way the PM interacted with the performers and appreciated their efforts to respect Indian culture has just strengthened the bond between the two nations.
