The INDVest Investors Forum, NYC & Startopreneur held their inaugural webinar series on August 15th, 2025, with a compelling session titled “#The India Moment @IND2047 LinkedIn Event Series” The event gathered leading experts’ across researchers, innovators, users, and community thought leaders to engage in a discussion on the path for India to reach $50 Trillion by Year-2047.
Hosted by Ravi Karkara, Founder INDVest Investors Forum, NYC the webinar reflected on the structural support needed for scaling ideas into global success stories: “It is essential to build an intergenerational, collective, and collaborative ecosystem to nurture start-ups into the unicorns of tomorrow. This vision can only be realized through deep partnerships across the entire start-up landscape—investors, founders, policymakers, and industry leaders working as one.”

We were privileged to host industry stalwarts and thought leaders, including Ajay Thakur- CEO & Managing Partner (TGIsmE Capital Advisors LLP, Former Head – SME & Start-up, BSE), Sid Jain (Co-Founder at HVB 88 Angels LLC, President at AAAUM OM LLC, Deep-Tech & Defense-Tech), and a vibrant community of entrepreneurs, investors, and policy advocates explored the transformative pathways for India’s growth story and the opportunities that will define our journey to becoming a $50 trillion economy by 2047.
Ajay Thakur – 32 years of experience with Custodian and Stock Exchanges. He has headed Arbitation Cell of BSE and created the regulatory framework of Arbitration and was responsible for the resolution of more than 1000 cases. His tenure in Business Development and Membership Services has seen smooth transition of digital infrastructure and business growth in BSE. His biggest contribution was to create SME Equity Platforms in India which has helped listing of 1300 SMEs, fund raising of INR 50,000 Cr (US $5.7 B) and Market Cap of INR 4 Lakh Cr (US $45.6 B). He is receipent of various awards for contribution to SME Eco-System. Ajay has launched an AIF — TGIsmE Fund, TGI denotes “The Great Indian.” Ajay Thakur underscored the rising role of small and medium enterprises: “SMEs have risen as the backbone of India’s growth, driving innovation, employment, and regional development. For India to reach its 2047 vision, empowering SMEs with access to markets, finance, and global competitiveness will be non-negotiable.” Ajay further highlighted “the recent credit ratings upgrade of India by S&P Global to BBB from BBB-, the first such instance in last two decades.”
Siddharth Jain (SID) – an equity research analyst that covered financial sector, specifically part of teams covering large banks, regional banks, mortgage companies etc. He is credited with creating family of KBW Indices and licensed them into ETFs such as KBE, KRE, KBWD, KBWY etc. by engaging with State Street Investment Management & Invesco PowerShares. He facilitated JV with NASDAQ for the index/ ETF business as part of his exit and founded AAAUM OM LLC & co-founded HVB 88 Angels. HVB Angels is focused on start-up investing in Pre-seed/Seed rounds across geographies with exposure to 25+ start-ups across Defense-Tech, Deep-Tech, Space-Tech, Aerospace, Ed-Tech, Health-Tech, Food-Tech, Advanced Materials, Quantum Computing, etc. Siddharth Jain brought a forward-looking lens to deep tech, saying: “India’s moment is now—especially in sunrise sectors such as rare earth elements, mining, space, and defense. These are not just opportunities for growth, but strategic imperatives for India’s positioning in the global economy.”
Shubham Dhoot – Founder StartoPreneur & Co-Host shared a crucial perspective on the role of India’s young innovators: “For India 2047, youth entrepreneurs will be at the forefront. They must be supported not just by government policy but also by visionary industry leaders so we can achieve much more together.”
In conclusion Siddharth Jain added that “The four P’s — Power, Profit, People and Planet are critical for sustainable growth and we believe that the Country that will balance these Four P’s will lead the second half of this Century.”
