A video recently went viral of veteran actor from Bollywood, Kya Kay Menon, where he is seen to be supporting the Congress party in their “Vote Chori” campaign. In a video that seems to purported, Menon seems to be supporting their drive but the actor has denied any involvement in their drive and has stated “without his knowledge” or “approval”.

Menon commented on Congress Party’s post stating that he has taken no part in this video and hasn’t acted in this ad. Instead the Opposition has taken a scene from his famous web series Special Ops. His comment read, “Please let it be noted that I have not acted in this ad. A clip from my Special Ops promotions has been edited and used without permission.”

The video used by the Congress party had a clip from Menon’s Special Ops character, Himmat Singh, who could be seen asking the viewers to join the campaign. The caption of the post read, “Himmat Singh kuch keh rahe hain, jaldi se kar aao! Band karo (Himmat Singh is saying something, go quickly! Stop it).”

The whole campaign of the Congress has intensified ever since numerous different leaders of opposition alongside Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a protest march from Parliament to Election Commission this Monday, on August 11th. This was done to oppose the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and allegations of “vote chori” (vote theft).

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi has called this fight is for the protection of democracy. He wrote, “Heartfelt thanks to all the fellow MPs of INDIA for standing shoulder to shoulder and fighting with full strength in this movement against vote theft. As I said, this fight is not political–it is for the protection of democracy, the constitution, and the right to vote, and we will achieve this together.”
