The spirited sequel of the movie Son of Sardaar, released back in 2012, Son of Sardaar 2 released on the big screen this Friday on August 1st. The movie starring Ajay Devgn is close to reaching the Rs 25 crore mark at the box office. The movie made a total business of Rs 9.25 crore this Sunday on Day 3 of its release.
As per the reports and estimated numbers, the directorial venture of Vijay Kumar Arora has collected a total of Rs 24.75 crore in three days at the box office. The movie has done below par business than what the makers would have expected. However, the movie revenue seems to be surging up with a good collection on Day 3.
It was reported that on its first Sunday at the big screens, Son of Sardaar 2 had seen an overall Hindi occupancy of around 34.9%. The morning shows didn’t see many seats getting filled as there was only 11.47% occupancy in these shows. The numbers in the afternoon and the evening shows spiked up with evening shows getting the highest occupancy rate. In the afternoon, the halls saw 40.44% occupancy whereas the evening shows witnessed 51.58% occupancy. The night shows a dip in occupancy with only 36.12% present at the shows.
The movie is facing some tough competition from Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri which released on the same day, and Saiyaara which is still enjoying a great run at the box office. The movie was originally scheduled to release on July 25th last month but was postponed due to Saiyaara’s box office performance. The film has been jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, NR Pachisia and Pravin Talreja under the banners of Devgn Films and Jio Studios.
