Vijay Deverakonda has made a return to the box office with his new movie Kingdom that released this Thursday on July 31st. The movie has made an uproar on the big screen and in just three days of its release has crossed the Rs. 30 crore mark in the domestic market.
As per the reports on the movie’s first Saturday at the big screen, the action drama has racked up Rs. 8 crore in India and with that the film has earned a total of Rs. 33.5 crore. The movie has seen a healthy support in the cinema halls with people turning up in good numbers.
It was reported that on Day 3, the movie recorded 47.4% occupancy as far as the Telugu audience is concerned. The numbers dropped a bit in the morning shows which had only 31.25% but the numbers surged higher with 46.31% in the afternoon shows and 47.06% in the evening shows. The night shows were the ones where the percentages spiked for the movie with 64.97% occupancy.
Kingdom is a movie project that is written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and stars Vijay Deverakonda as the lead playing Constable Surya also known as Suri. The film’s cast includes Satyadev who plays Siva, Suri’s elder brother, while Bhagyashri Borse is playing the role of Dr. Madhu, Suri’s love interest.
The cast also includes Venkitesh V. P. as Murugan and Ayyappa P. Sharma as Swamiji. Posani Krishna Murali, Goparaju Ramana, Manish Chaudhari, Baburaj, and Sudharshan are also part of the ensemble cast. The movie is a joint venture of three production houses consisting of Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Creations, and Srikara Studios.
