A huge mishap was avoided in Karnataka’s Bengaluru 3 days ahead of a big-ticket event to rename a bus station. There were six gelatine sticks and detonators were found in an abandoned bag in the toilet of a private bus stand in KR Market of Bengaluru which is very close to the venue where the event was supposed to happen this Wednesday afternoon.

When this abandoned bag full of explosives was found near the venue, the police department was in a frenzy and a state of panic. The police were panicking because the event was supposed to be attended by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

The whole fiasco came to light when Satvinder Singh, the man in charge of the toilet, found the abandoned bag in his toilet. He took the bag to the police station and informed them about the whole scene.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Girish S has stated that the gelatin sticks found in the bag were similar to those used in quarrying. He suspected that the man carrying the bag left it in the toilet due to the presence of the police around the area.

“It looks like the abandoned gelatin sticks were similar to those used in quarrying. We suspect the man, who was carrying the sticks for a reason, might have abandoned them in the toilet, worried by police presence. We’re looking for the man,” DCP (West) Girish S said.

Kalasipalya which is a transit hub in the heart of Bangalore swarmed with thousands of traders and commuters, was gripped by panic as the news spread wide. Police seized the bag containing explosives and deployed their anti-sabotage squad along with sniffer dogs who were told to scan the area. They scanned the localities for two hours, but they didn’t find any suspicious object or explosives.
