Saiyaara has shaken up the box office with its thunderous run reaching numbers that no one would’ve expected. People are loving the movie and are applauding both the leads of the movie who are making their debut in the film industry. Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda both have kickstarted their career through Mohit Suri’s directorial venture, however the director revealed it took him around 5 months to find Aneet who became the perfect girl to play Vaani Batra in Saiyaara.
After the unbelievable success of his movie Saiyaara, Suri was recently in an interview talking about how difficult it was to find the perfect girl to play the female lead. He highlighted that it may not sound right to some people but he wanted a young girl who has not had any cosmetic surgeries on her body or face. Suri was however surprised that it became such a big requirement.
Mohit Suri said, “It took 4, 5 months to find this girl. Sorry if I’m not sounding too politically correct. One thing that was scary was that I wanted a young 20 to 22 year old girl who had not done anything cosmetically to her face or body, and that’s difficult to find in today’s day and age. Can you imagine? I didn’t think it would be that big a requirement. But it was.”
The filmmaker added, “That was a major requirement. I didn’t expect it to be such a big requirement. Not only that, I needed someone who felt real, someone who hadn’t something to themselves. She had done some work before, and she was brilliant at it.”
Suri revealed that the casting director of the film, Shanoo Sharma was one of the main voices behind Aneet Padda’s casting as she stated that she was very good. He also stated that Padda fit perfectly into the role the film required and noted that it was necessary to break the shackles of a typical small-town girl and showcase how they’re more conventionally ‘out there’ than what many believe.
