The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has again summoned major actors for allegedly promoting illegal betting apps on social media platforms. Famous actors like Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, and Lakshmi Manchu for promoting illegal betting apps. The stars have all been summoned in front of the ED on different dates.
The organisation has asked Rana Daggubati to appear in front of the directorate on July 23rd, followed by Prakash Raj on July 30th. Then they have called Vijay Deverakonda on 6th August and then on 13th August they have called in actress Lakshmi Manchu.
As per the reports, the case against the actors, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), is formed around at least five FIRs that were registered by the state police in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These FIRs majorly call out the networks of betting apps that have been accused of generating large amounts of revenues through unauthorised gambling operations.
Along with these 4 actors, a total of around 29 public figures has been named in the ED’s case. These accused public figures include the likes of Nidhi Agarwal, Pranitha Subhash, Ananya Nagalla, and TV host Sreemukhi and many other popular regional influencers and content creators.
