Just 17 years old, Mahin Gupta has turned a personal battle into a powerful mission: to inspire the next generation of scientists, creators, and change-makers. A student at Roslyn High School and a leukemia survivor, Mahin has recently published An Electric Journey: An Intro to Circuits for Kids—a colorful, beginner-friendly book designed to make science accessible and exciting for young minds.

Targeting elementary and middle school readers, An Electric Journey combines engaging illustrations with simple storytelling to explain the fundamentals of electrical circuits. Whether it’s a curious child, a classroom of students, or a family exploring STEM together, the book is crafted to be a fun and educational resource that demystifies science through creativity.

Mahin’s passion for science and service is rooted in his own life journey. After undergoing treatment for leukemia, he spent time at Sunrise Day Camp—a haven for children with cancer—and now gives back as a counselor, offering support and joy to those walking a similar path. That experience of overcoming hardship has shaped his drive not just to succeed, but to uplift others.

Beyond his work as an author and mentor, Mahin is already making strides in the academic world. He recently published research in the Journal of Medical Internet Research, focusing on how simplifying patient education materials can improve public health literacy—a critical issue in today’s fast-paced digital world.

Academically, Mahin is a powerhouse, boasting a 102 GPA and a rigorous course load that includes AP Physics 1 & 2, AP Pre-Calculus, AP US History, AP European History, and AP English Language. But his ambitions don’t stop at the classroom door. He’s currently developing an AI-powered drone capable of autonomously identifying and collecting plastic waste—an innovative solution aimed at tackling environmental pollution.

Still, his current spotlight remains on An Electric Journey. Available now on Amazon, the book is more than just a teaching tool—it’s a symbol of resilience, curiosity, and hope. For parents, educators, and mentors looking to spark a love of STEM in young learners, it offers the perfect introduction.

So, whether you’re shopping for a future engineer, a science-loving student, or simply want to support a young changemaker, Mahin Gupta’s An Electric Journey is a meaningful and inspiring read.
