Jashn-e-Rekhta, one of the world’s largest Urdu language, literary, and cultural festivals, being held annually in New Delhi for eight years, will make its international debut in London on Saturday.

The day-long program “Jashn-e-Rekhta London” will be held at Westminster Chapel and it includes sessions and performances representing the socio-cultural matrix of Urdu in the UK.

The festival will bring together artists, dancers, scholars, and poets from India, Pakistan, and the UK through musical performances, eclectic discussions, theatre, Dastangoi storytelling, dance, and mushaira.

Jashn-e-Rekhta London promises an immersive experience into the composite culture from which Urdu originated, giving a taste of the exotic flavors of Urdu zubaan to all – the Khaas and the Aam.

A symphony of music, dance, Daastangoi, conversations, Mushaira, and orchestra Qawwali, this first edition of Jashn-e-Rekhta London, seeks to foster the desire of all to delve deeper into the uplifting philosophy that this Zubaan-e-Ishq offers.
